Colchester Garrison Officers' Club

The site is situated in the St John’s Green area of Colchester and is accessed via the St John’s Abbey Gatehouse.  In July 2010 a fire destroyed what was an existing club house for the Colchester Garrison Officers’ Club and Hills Construction has been commission to carry out the design and build of a new club house on the site of the original building.

The original Officers’ Club building incorporated a large Hall, Dining Room, Lounges, Bars and Billiard Room, along with sundry ancillary offices, toilets and kitchens. The proposals are for a smaller building which includes a replacement multi-functional restaurant/hall, members’ lounges, snooker/function room, kitchen, toilets and office.  We have produced an appropriate, sympathetic and high quality form of development having regard to location, context and site characteristics.

A planning application has been submitted to Colchester Borough.
